We hope everyone is enjoying their holiday festivities, or else just having a safe and comfy winter season. We wanted to touch base and give everyone an update on what’s been happening with Legends of Omeria!
Previously we updated that we had a final print proof that we had approved for mass production. Before the game could head into mass production, however, the printer needed to send us a Mass Production Sample for approval.
What’s a Mass Production Sample?
When a printer produces a “print proof” for a client they use whatever materials they have on-hand because they’re producing a single copy of the product. Once a print proof has been approved, however, the printer has to go out and find enough materials to fulfill the entire order for mass production. Sometimes this can result in slight differences between materials used in the print proof and the materials used in the mass-produced version of the game.
What does this mean for the Legends of Omeria Starter Set?
Honestly? Not much. We have received our Mass Production Sample and the only difference is that the printers managed to source card stock with a denser core. This means sturdier minis, but it also means that the standees we initially wanted to use are the wrong size. On the printer’s recommendation, we’re going to change the standees, but nothing else needs to be adjusted.
What now?
As of yesterday we have submitted the change for standees and approved the project for mass production!
How long until it ships?
Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact ship date yet. Mass production can take 8 to 10 weeks, which (just our luck) lands right during the Lunar New Year/Chinese New year celebration. Our printer is located in China, which means people take time off from work and this can lead to production times varying.
