Ogre Dogs for Dungeons & Dragons 5e

Quick monster today.

My players are pretty close to entering the Ogre Base on the Dyson Megadelve. Thus, I thought it’d be fun to give the ogres some ogre-sized dogs that guard their front doors.

Imagine a pair of sloppy, dumb French bulldogs the size of horses.

Kind of a weak challenge for my players (they’re level 7), but the idea alone cracks me up.

Plus, they’re lousy guards, more content with licking their own butts than shooing away intruders.

This was an easy monster to create. I took the mastiff (MM, p332), bumped up its stats from Medium to Large (Strength and Constitution both got +3 – +4 bonuses), increased hit points by two dice, and kept pretty much everything else the same.

This monster is free for you to use in your 5e D&D campaigns. Just not commercially. And the art isn’t mine, borrowed!
