[Gods of Wandrossa] Powers of Knowledge

The Gods of Wandrossa are starting to roll in. The very first God to enter Wandrossa is the Intermediate Deity Toshokan, God of Knowledge and Sages who is true neutral. His appearance is that of a humanoid with skin that looks to be made from the pages of books and hair seemingly made of ink.

Toshokan’s goals are the collection, preservation, and spread of information.

From Sam, Toshokan’s player:

I feel like powers focused on the creation of places of learning and repositories of information, such as schools or libraries, would make sense. Maybe some ways to alter things to better serve the pursuit of knowledge, like the Gift of Intelligence power from the Arcana domain subclass [previous iteration].

Build Library

2nd-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement of 3rd-rank or higher that does not already contain a library

Duration: Instantaneous

Wealth Cost: 10

You build a library. While the library remains, the population requirements for the settlement to increase ranks is reduced by 10%. If the settlement’s rank is reduced to 2nd or lower, the library is destroyed.


Create Expert Subclass

4th-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: self

Duration: Instantaneous

You create a new subclass, an expert, which the Overdeity creates for you. Choose any of the twelve prime classes. The subclass that you create relies on Intelligence, skills, and expertise in addition to its normal ability focus. You gain a number of followers equal to 500 times your Might score.


Create Intelligent Race

6th-level knowledge epic power (Prerequisite: 6 knowledge powers)

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: self

Duration: Instantaneous

You create a new highly-intelligent race, which the Overdeity creates for you. Its main ability score is Intelligence. All other features you may suggest.

You gain 5,000 followers.


Create Legendary Sage

7th-level knowledge epic power (Prerequisite: 7 knowledge powers)

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 sage Chosen One

Duration: Instantaneous

Your sage becomes a legendary creature with its own lair, which the Overdeity creates for you. Choose a hex to place your sage’s lair. The lair has a DV equal to 10 + your Might score. Whenever your Chosen One is in its lair, all Wealth Cost for improvements are reduced by 3 in all settlements in the same region as the lair.


Create Wondrous Item

3rd-level power

Domains: arcana, knowledge

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement

Duration: Instantaneous

You create a new magic item, a wondrous item. The wondrous item’s rarity can be common or uncommon. At 7th-level you can create rare wondrous items and at 9th-level you can create very rare wondrous items. After you create the magic item, choose a settlement to award the magic item. While the settlement stands and contains the magic item, the population requirements for the settlement to increase ranks is reduced by an additional 10% (20%).


Expert Sage

5th-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 sage Chosen One

Duration: Instantaneous

The target sage becomes an expert. From now on, when the sage is present in a settlement, the wealth cost for all improvements are reduced by 2.


Forewarn

1st-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 reaction, after a god uses a power to reduce the population of a settlement

Target: 1 settlement

Duration: Instantaneous

If a god’s power would reduce the settlement’s population to 0, it reduces the settlement’s population to a number equal to 100 times your Might instead. Any followers or benefits the god gains from reducing the population remain the same.


Gift of Genius

4th-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: self

Duration: Instantaneous

You create a monster variant, a genius. Choose a creature whose Intelligence score is 13 or lower. The monster’s Intelligence becomes 15. You gain a number of followers equal to 500 times your Might score.


Meeting of the Minds

5th-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 region

Duration: Instantaneous

You gain 500 followers for every Sage Chosen One present in the region that is not imprisoned, incapacitated, or dead.


Portent

3rd-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 bonus action

Target: self

Duration: Instantaneous

The next action that you take that day is considered to have occurred immediately before the last action or bonus action declared before yours.


Quest for Knowledge

2nd-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement that contains one of your temples and a library

Duration: Instantaneous

You gain 500 followers.


Research & Development

1st-level knowledge power

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement

Duration: a number of days equal to your Might score

For the duration, the wealth cost for improvements in the target settlement is reduced by 1.


See Beyond

8th-level knowledge epic power (Prerequisite: 8 knowledge powers)

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 region that has not yet been revealed

Duration: Instantaneous

The Overdeity tells you, in private, the statistics for a location in the unrevealed region, either a settlement or mystery site. In addition, the day the region is revealed, any actions, bonus actions, or reactions that you take targeting that location are considered to have happened six hours before you declared them.


Walk Beyond

9th-level knowledge epic power (Prerequisite: 9 knowledge powers)

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 region that has not yet been revealed that is adjacent to a previously revealed region

Duration: Instantaneous

You reveal the region which appears the next day.
