[Gods of Wandrossa] Powers of Death

I’m slowly making my way through the index of powers. Here are the ones that have been created so far:

Powers of Death

The Death domain is concerned with the forces that cause death, as well as the negative energy that gives rise to undead creatures.

Blight

1st-level power

Domains: death, nature

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: a number of farms in the same region equal to half your Might score

Duration: Instantaneous

You instantly destroy the target farms.


Build Tomb

2nd-level power

Domains: death, grave

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement of 3rd-rank or higher that does not already contain a tomb

Duration: Instantaneous

Wealth Cost: 10

You build a tomb. While the tomb remains, the settlement gains the following benefits:

  • The might bonus provided by temples doubles for gods of evil alignment.
  • The settlement’s temple level maximum increases by 1; only good gods can build or improve temples using this extra temple level.

Call of the Dead

8th-level death epic power (Prerequisite: 8 death powers)

Domains: death

Implementation Time: 1 bonus action

Target: 1 region

Duration: a number of days equal to your Might score

For the duration, you gain a bonus to your might score equal to the number of tombs in the region.


Create Lich

7th-level death epic power (Prerequisite: 7 death powers)

Domains: death

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 mage Chosen One

Duration: Instantaneous

Your mage becomes a lich with a lair. Choose a hex to place the lich’s lair. The lair has a DV equal to 10 + your Might score. Whenever your Chosen One is in its lair, the Chosen One’s god gains 100 followers for every tomb in the region.


 

Create Necromantic Subclass

4th-level power

Domains: death, grave

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: self

Duration: Instantaneous

You create a new necromantic subclass which the Overdeity develops for you. Choose one of the twelve core classes. The class gains a subclass with a focus on negative energy and death. You gain a number of followers equal to 500 times your Might score.


Create Spell

5th-level power

Domains: arcana, death

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement

Duration: a number of days equal to your Might score

You create a spell of 5th level or lower, which the Overdeity develops for you. When you use this power, describe the spell and how it functions in one sentence. You can use epic level powers to create spells of higher levels, and the spell you create is equal to the epic level power slot you use (e.g., you can use an 8th-level power slot to create an 8th-level spell).

For the duration, the DV of the settlement increases by an amount equal to the spell’s level.


Create Undead

2nd-level power

Domains: death, evil

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: self

Duration: a number of days equal to your Might score

You create a new monster, an undead, which the Overdeity creates for you. When you use this power, describe the undead and how it functions in one sentence. The CR of the undead depends on your power slot level: 1st CR 0 – 1, 2nd CR 2-4, 3rd CR 5-10, 4th CR 11-17, 5th CR 18+. You can use a 6th level epic power to create a legendary undead.

For the duration, all settlements that contain a tomb reduce or increase their DV by 1 (your choice).


Create Undead Race

6th-level epic power (Prerequisite: 6 death powers)

Domains: death

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: self

Duration: Instantaneous

You create a new undead race, which the Overdeity develops for you. It possesses common undead features such as not requiring air, food, drink, or water, and being immune to the poison condition.

You gain 5,000 followers.


Cure Plague

4th-level power

Domains: good, life

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 region

Duration: Instantaneous

You end the plague condition in the region.


Curse

3rd-level evil power

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement

Duration: a number of days equal to your Might score

The might cost to build or improve the target doubles for the duration.


Darkness

3rd-level power

Domains: darkness, death, evil

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 region

Duration: 1 day

During the resolution phase, all settlements in the region reduce their satisfaction score by an amount equal to your Might bonus. In addition, you gain 100 followers for each settlement that contains one of your temples in the region.


Genocide

9th-level death epic power (Prerequisite: 9 death powers)

Domains: death

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement that contains one of your temples

Duration: Instantaneous

The target’s population is reduced by half. After you use this power, you must take the rest action on the next day.


Massacre

1st-level power

Domains: death, evil

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement

Duration: Instantaneous

Reduce the target’s population by an amount equal to 10 times your Might score. You gain a number of followers equal to half the population reduced in this way. If this power would reduce the population to 0 or less, the settlement turns to ruins.


Negative Energy Font

5th-level power

Domains: death, evil

Implementation Time: 3 days (ritual)

Target: 1 region

Duration: a number of days equal to your Might score

For the duration, you gain 100 followers for each settlement in the region that contains a tomb. While performing the ritual, you cannot use powers, cause conflicts, or assist/oppose conflicts. If you do, the power is lost and it does not take effect.


Nights of the Dead

3rd-level power

Domains: death

Implementation Time: 1 action

Target: 1 settlement that contains a tomb

Duration: 1 day

The dead return to life and haunt the living. The following occurs:

  • The settlement’s satisfaction score is reduced by an amount equal to your might.
  • The settlement’s DV score is reduced by an amount equal to half your might (rounded down).
  • Until the end of the day, you can target the settlement with a conflict action as a bonus action.

Plague

4th-level power

Domains: death, evil

Implementation Time: 1 action, then 1 bonus action to spread the plague

Target: 1 settlement

Duration: a number of days equal to your Might score

A plague spreads in the region starting with the target settlement. Each day that the plague persists, you can use your bonus action to target another settlement. For the duration, each settlement with the plague condition has its growth rate reduced by 6%. In addition, you gain a number of followers equal to 10 times the number of affected settlements.

At the end of the duration or if the effect is ended with a cure plague power, the growth rates of each affected settlement return to the normal values.
